Intern Program
From Intern To Founder: Learn The Business, Not Just The Job
I started Yule Love Lights at 19 with a ladder and a YouTube tutorial. My boss at Chick-fil-A asked me to hang his Christmas lights, so I said yes, then stayed up all night teaching myself how. Today we light up 200+ homes and businesses across Long Island, and Iโm still learning something new every single day.
This internship exists because someone believed in me when I had zero experience and a lot of energy. I want to do the same for you, whether you want to work in this industry, start your own home service business one day, or just figure out what youโre good at.
Who This Is For
Students. Aspiring entrepreneurs. Anyone curious about how a real small business actually runs: sales, marketing, operations, customer service, from the inside. No experience required, no age minimum. High schoolers welcome. If youโre motivated and coachable, you belong here.
What You'll Actually Learn, Especially If You Want To Run Your Own Home Service Business Someday
- How to build and price an offer that customers say yes to
- Real sales conversations: quoting, objection handling, closing
- How lead generation and marketing actually work (ads, content, referrals)
- Operations: scheduling, crews, logistics, keeping a season running smoothly
- Customer service that turns one job into a five-star review and a referral
- How a founder thinks day-to-day: the decisions, the tradeoffs, the mistakes
The Path
Unpaid and part-time: 1 to 5 hours a week, on your schedule, with training every step of the way, open through the 2026 holiday season. Interns who show up, take initiative, and prove it out have a real path to a paid staff position.
We Give Back, And You'll Be Part Of It
Every year since day one, Yule Love Lights has donated free Christmas light installs to families and organizations across Long Island, including the American Cancer Society, Belmont Lake Civic Association, and the Michael Magro Foundation.
